Role overview

  • The Crewing Consultant works in a team responsible for all crewing matters, including recruitment for crewing, within TOP.
  • The Crewing Consultant reports to and is directly accountable in respect of recruiting to the Manager Crewing.
  • To ensure that all team members within TOP are treated with respect and dignity.
  • To ensure that the procedures in relation to crewing and recruitment are adhered to, and where necessary improved.

Key responsibilities

As Crewing Consultant:

  • Responsible for the application, adherence and implementation of all relevant ISO 9001, NEN
    4400 and MLC 2006 procedures;
  • Maintain contact with offshore personnel, act as first point of contact;
  • Assist the Manager Crewing in all activities;
  • Develop a good understanding and relationship with current clients and create the best
    position for TOP and for future projects and opportunities;
  • Liaise with clients to collect the necessary information in order to have a clear understanding
    of the pre-requisite experience and job content the client would expect from candidates;
  • Search and select (potential) candidates for vacancies using our database, TOP network or
    the various cv databases, or at your own initiative;
  • Communicate our vacancies via several social media, website and job boards;
  • Collect resumes and make a pre-selection of good candidates;
  • Determine salary expectations and availability. Liaise and arrange in-house candidate
    interviews;
  • Make final selection together with the crewing manager and/or business developer, prepare
    and submit candidates CV’s to clients;
  • Guide and monitor all steps in the selection and recruitment process between candidates and
    clients;
  • Arrange and prepare the necessary contracts and documents to complete the placement of
    the candidate;
  • Negotiate and liaise with clients;
  • Maintain and use our database to its full capabilities;
  • Assist candidates in their search for new job opportunities;
  • Check regularly the needs of clients;
  • Report to the crewing manager on progress of searches for both clients and candidates;
  • Ensure that clients and candidates are always properly informed and timely updated on a
    regular basis;
  • Fulfil all necessary administrative duties such as preparing resumes, interview notes and
    forms and any further related correspondence;
  • Maintain office agenda on any appointments, interviews or visits.
  • Investigate and consider new potential clients and develop a relationship;
  • To maintain a perfect administration of all data from both on- as offshore personnel in
    database and keep it updated;
  • Manning the emergency phone, per fair turn;
  • Makes regular visits to clients and project locations;
  • Visits trade fairs / exhibitions and attends branch related business functions;
  • Provide advice and support to the management in all Recruitment/Crewing related issues.

What we’re looking for

Theoretical knowledge:

  • MBO/HBO degree or similar.

Practical experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience, preferably in Maritime, Offshore, Oil & Gas
    and/or Renewable industry
  • Knowledge of and experience in all relevant law and rules & regulations, or willing to develop knowledge
  • Experience or willing to develop contractual (crewing) issues and negotiation

Competence:

  • Good communication skills
  • Flexible
  • Presentable
  • Awareness and understanding of (inter)national law regarding working both onshore as offshore in (inter)national waters
  • Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken
  • Familiar with recruitment software
  • Technical affinity
