Marshalling yard management
In addition, we have managed the site, also known as a marshalling yard, where the supply of such projects takes place, several times. All the large components of the wind turbines are stored at this yard. When a ship arrives, it needs to pick up the correct parts to set sail again. Our task was to ensure that all the necessary components were ready on time so that the ships could depart quickly and the project would not be delayed.
Offshore wind projects
The Offshore Partners specialises in supporting offshore wind projects by providing field and project engineers to guide these projects. We have a considerable group of professionals who work on various ships of our clients during the season. They oversee the piling and installation of the monopiles, as well as the placement of the nacelle and blades. When problems arise, they come up with a solution on the spot. From 700-tonne to 3000-tonne cranes: New requirements for wind turbine construction
Our expertise lies in designing and overseeing the construction of offshore construction vessels, such as pipe-laying ships and heavy lift vessels. These large ships are increasingly involved in wind energy projects. The growing wind energy sector requires larger and more powerful crane ships; whereas a 700-tonne crane used to be sufficient for building wind turbines, nowadays 3000-tonne cranes are used for the construction of modern wind turbines.
