Role overview
The Maintenance Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation, safety, and reliability of equipment and systems aboard a Jack-Up Barge. Reporting to the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) or other designated leadership, the Maintenance Supervisor will oversee and coordinate maintenance activities, supervise technical personnel, and collaborate closely with the Electrician to address mechanical and electrical issues.
This position requires a highly skilled individual with extensive experience as an independent Mechanic, as well as a solid background in maintenance supervision or barge operations. The role demands a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and technical systems commonly found on Jack-Up Barges. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work in high-pressure environments.
Key responsibilities
- Maintenance Oversight: Ensure the effective inspection, repair, and upkeep of mechanical and hydraulic systems (e.g., cranes, winches, pumps, engines) to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Supervise maintenance activities, prioritize tasks, and collaborate closely with the Electrician to resolve technical issues.
- Safety & Compliance: Uphold safety standards, mitigate risks, and ensure all activities align with company policies and industry regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks and provide detailed reports on equipment performance and progress.
- Technical Expertise: Act as a key technical advisor, solving complex challenges and mentoring junior team members.

- CA-EBS, /OPITO or NOGEPA
- Offshore Medical Exam. /NOGEPA or OGUK
- Incl. shoulder measurement, NOGEPA or OGUK
- Offshore Medical Exm. Incl. fittest ERT team, /NOGEPA or OGUK
- VCA/MIST/IMIST, /NOGEPA/OGUK/STCW
- Offshore first aid, /OPITO/NOGEPA/STCW
- (Bahamas national cert, Bahamas seamans record book evidence of sea service, we can apply if not) GMDSS flag stare endorsement,
- Confined Space
- Gas measuring testing, OPITO
- Security awareness, STCW
- Working at height
